I choose to make an alternative music magazine firstly because I felt like it would apply well to the stated demographic of a 16-25 "fun loving" audience. This is because many young people like to listen to underground acts since they are what's new and trendy whilst often being cheap and have small dedicated fandoms which makes it ideal for a young audience, additionally many underground music scenes are attended by people who can be described as "fun loving" since many of these acts are creative and vibrant which appeals to people from that demographic.

I also picked this genre of entertainment magazines as it would give me a lot of artistic liberties of how I would want to do the magazine cover since underground music magazines use a lot of unconventional designs on their front covers which would mean as long as I take inspiration from them I wouldn't have to strictly have to stick to a typical house style magazine compared to something such as a mainstream music magazine.

The final reason I picked underground music magazine was that I had a vision of a magazine that had a theme of self growth (hence the name voyage). I felt like underground music was the right genre to do this with as that type of music is often about growing and expanded existing music as well. Hence I felt like this is was the correct genre to go with to fulfil my vision
