One of the most interesting parts of Prophet's tour of his hometown was when we decided to go into the free to enter art gallery near park street. To our surprise inside there was Banksy's famous "devolved parliament". This lead to a conversation about how his fellow Bristol Native had influenced his career:
"Early on it was hard to find my identity as an artist. When you're on the underground you're always desperately searching for unique sounds and feels to implement into your music. So you're always thinking "what's the sound in London right now, what's the sound in Edinburgh, what's it like in Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff so you end up chasing trends which in my eye's is the exact opposite of what alternative music is for. So after a while of doing that I ended up looking around me. Where I live, where I grew up. This place has such a unique history of alternative art and Banksy is the most famous you can't go anywhere in this city without seeing his influence. But Banksy became famous because there was no-one like him, no-one had done that before with street art like him before. But he didn't do that by doing what other artists were doing, he never used a studio or canvas, the street WAS his canvas which made his art even more unique. And I decided that I had to do the same, I had to do something different and was unique and experimental. And really that was when I started really creating great music and I started getting noticed"
