After research and expermintation (left). My choice for the font of the magazine is called Komoda by FontM (sample is centre theoretical title is right). I want to use Komoda because firstly it the sort of font which works really well with bold darker colours which will be the desired colour scheme for my backdrops. Additionally on the magazine but also because it fits with the alternative theme of the artists I will use in my magazine because it is very minimalist because none of the letters differ in size or writing style but also very striking because the letters are large and unorthodox. It fits with with Hearst conventions since it is a black font, and it also looks sophisticated which is very similar to the fonts for the titles of Elle and Esquire. It also fits with the conventions of underground music magazines since like magazines such as Wax Poetical and Wire my font choice is something which has not appeared on any other major publication which makes our magazine seem more unique and artistic.
I looked at other fonts (down left), I didn't use most of these fonts as even though they did not fit the aethsthetic of my magazine since they did not look as unique as Komoda, for example I tested out the font new-sense and it did not in my personal opinion seem as unique as it was heavily used by a lot of products referring to Motown and the sixties (such as being used in Wax Poetical). Another font I tested was graphers bloggers font but this didn't work as even though it looked unique it didn't look like a font which looked like it could be a professional magazine font since it is designed to be more for blogs than magazine covers
