How I attracted my stated audience

My stated audience was going to be 16-25 year olds who are "fun loving"demographic. I also wanted to appeal to a scene demographic of teenagers who enjoy small underground music acts. I used various things to appeal to this audience.

The the first thing I did so that a scene audience would identify with my magazine is that I made my cover models dress in a similar way to how someone in a scene demographic would typically dress. My first artist Prophet was dressed in a typical urban scene outfit with beanie and John Lennon glasses with a long fringe which fits with a scene demographic because it's stylish but also doesn't fit typical male fashion conventions such as short hair and rimmed glasses. For my second artist Lexi Elliot I dressed her how someone in an Vapourware scene would dress by having her dress in a bright pink shirt with palm trees which is something bright and colourful and takes inspiration from the eighties.

Additionally on my magazine cover and website I made an active effort to appeal to a "fun loving" audience by making sure we include small music scenes and where to find live music. For instance on my website i had the "location of the month" feature where it would show a live music venue on google maps which the user could interact with. I also included a monthly feature on my contents page called "events near you" (page 38 on contents page) which means "fun loving" people can use the magazine to find fun events and venues. I also made sure to make my covers use extremely bright and colourful so that they can identify that the magazine will be more fun and exciting because the cover is more vibrant and visually interesting.
