One of the key aspects of my two separate magazine covers was representing the difference in between how a man and a women experience challenges in the industry of alternative music and how it has shaped them as artists (linking back to one of the main theme of the magazine which is self discovery).
Prophet who is a guys main struggle in music is separating himself from everyone else creating music and how it made him more creative as a result. To illustrate this point I surrounded him with bright colours and a creative design. So that the reader will associate the artists with being creative and fun. But because he's a man this is all he has to deal with
Lexi Elliot on the other has an artist who has received sexist abuse and her h]journey is about how she grew from her sexist abuse. Hence the magazine cover for her has a lot of pink and purple such as on the font and in the photo. This is a colour associated with feminism and female empowerment so I am trying to associate the artist who is a female to being empowered.
The contrast in these two people are whilst prophet is an artist who is represented as being creative Lexi Elliot is represented as being empowered due to her experience of sexism and abuse and her journey with being uncomfortable with her gender
