My first step was planning which cloths I would use for the photoshoot. Since I was aiming at presenting an artist who made music in the style of vapourware I wanted them to have a style which reflected what a fan of the vaporwave subculture would wear. For this reason I choose this shirt as many Vapourware aesthetic clothing choices should be a faded pink and in a similar style to a Hawaiian shirt since it is a subculture which is inspired by the eighties

For my vaporwave photoshoot I wanted to use an indoor studio location. The ideal location which came to mind was my schools drama studio. I wanted to use it as its in my school which meant I could use school equipment from the media department such as a background screen or camera, additionally I would not have to pay for to use this location as studios are often quite expensive to rent out. Added onto this the schools drama studio has professional standard lighting which I could use to add on effects to my photos such as a spotlight.

First I made an initial plan of how I wanted to use the room creating a rough model of how i would use the rooms lighting

Since I am a drama student in the school I can go in and out of the drama studio. I used this to my advantage by scouting the location so I could evaluate if it would be fitting for the photoshoot. I looked at it and I decided it could be used for the photoshoot.

After this I emailed the head of the drama department Miss Markam Lee:

I then created a a schedule for my photoshoot

Following this we decided that Friday would be the best day to shoot it and I will now begin to storyboard the photoshoot

However there were further complications to this when the day of the shoot came. I ran into a problem where my lighting expert did not have the time to switch the lights in the drama studio. So I made the decision to delay the shoot until the following week. I kept a further dialogue with the lighting expert Mr Fay via email who has generously offered his photo equipment:

After I confirmed my change of location I made sure to take some location shots so I could make a rough sketch for what I wanted to do for a new location.

After location planning and a talk with Mr Fay I created an original image with annotations so I could get a clearer idea of what I wanted to create with my photo shoot

after this I made a rough sketch/storyboard for my photoshoot so I could refer back to what I wanted (see examples below)
